A bold act by Sharifah Amani Syed Zainal Rashid, shaved her hair just for her role in her new movie called Muallaf directed by Yasmin Ahmad - The Story Teller. Reported that she was crying during the shaving of her hair. What a sacrifice!

ReplyDeleteimho, sharifah amani is emerging as one of the best malaysian actress of her generation. she's willing to do that - that's a good sign. It's quite a feat by malaysian standards; of course in comparison to the highest standards and according to the "method" style of acting (which is practiced by the greatest actors in the world, including Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino), that is nothing special. Because, it's just hair, it will grow back. It's not like putting on many pounds by bingeing on food and then have to lose it all again, just like some world-class actors/actresses did.
